Session 5 (SS05): Clinical Proteomics
Session 6 (SS06): Science, Ethics, and Equity: Considering all Aspects of the Human Proteome

Join us onsite Sunday, September 17 before the official Congress Kicks Off to enjoy some incredible Big Question in Proteomic Sessions. Registration includes participation to any of the sessions to be selected. Further details on each Big Question in Proteomic Session will be outlined soon. Registration Fee of $50 USD.

This is YOUR chance to influence the content presented at HUPO 2023.

The HUPO 2023 Core Committee invites submissions from individuals or groups to conduct “Big Questions in Proteomics” Sessions, which will be held on the first day of the Congress (Sunday, September 17) prior to the official opening of the Congress. Sessions are normally between 1.5 hours and 4 hours in length. All topics relevant to the “Big Questions in Proteomics” are welcomed.

What are some examples of Big Questions in Proteomics?

  1. Quantification and not just identification.
  2. Tools and methods for the analysis of all less studied PTMs.
  3. How dynamic is the proteome of an individual.
  4. Beyond identification and quantification of the proteome: How is the proteome organized?
  5. A function for every protein: What are the most effective strategies forward?
  6. Single cell proteome: From single cells to cellular interaction networks
  7. Multi-OMICS: What can we learn from Proteomics data & how can we integrate data?
  8. One proteome, many proteotypes: What can we learn from longitudinal proteotype analyses?
  9. Proteins don’t exist, proteoforms do: Which proteoforms co-exist and how can we learn about their role(s) in cellular signaling?

Session proposals that incorporate a variety of instructional approaches (e.g. lecture, interactive discussion) and provide an engaging and interactive environment are strongly encouraged. We welcome sessions that provide practical guidance for conducting and managing team science in a variety of contexts and settings. Industry can help with the creation of the session; however, the session is not to be used for the promotion of commercial products.

All proposals must be submitted online. Session submissions are due by April 20, 2023 for consideration, and submission acceptance notifications will be sent no later than May 17, 2023. Session space is limited and it is possible that not all proposals can be accommodated.
